And then there are the hundreds of individual stories. For some it was tales of near escape from the flames. One lovely, sensible and bright but bulletproof 16 year old had sat on his roof watching the blaze whip towards him ignoring the sheriffs bullhorn to get out right now until he realized the flames were indeed hot and he scampered off in time.
Grooming can go a long way. This is one of the best ways to keep the Jack Russell terrier shedding issue under control, because the more hair you catch with a brush the less will be strewn over the carpet. Regular brushing will keep their coats in good condition and if you use a bristle brush you should be able to tend to clumps of hair before they shed.
Larger sheds usually have wall heights similar to a residential home. When building a shed I always recommend that the walls be slightly shorter so that the 8'-0" T1-11 siding can go from the top plate down to the bottom plate and overhang at least an inch and a half below the floor level. This keeps the water from running down the wall and into the shed. If regular 92 5/8 framing studs are use then the wall height will be 8-1 which necessitates the use of a strip of siding at the top. You will then need to install backing behind the joint and a flashing over the joint. This extra work and materials can be avoided if the shed walls are built at 7-7 tall.
Curing The Concrete: Another of the most important steps to pouring concrete is the curing process. This step increases the strength of the concrete which is important if you are using your large shed to roll heavy equipment or cars on. The trick to properly curing concrete is to slow the moisture from leaving the concrete. About 12 hours after the pour spray the surface with a light mist of water and then cover the concrete with plastic. This keeps the water from evaporating. After a few days you can remove the plastic and seal the concrete surface with a quality sealing spray. This will help keep moisture inside the concrete during the month long curing process. If you are in a hurry to build your shed using your 16x20 shed plans you may want to get onto the concrete long before it is fully cured. It is typically ok to walk on poured concrete 24 hours after pouring and you can start framing on it but be careful because it is still soft enough to scratch.
